Carapace is a wargame about sacred machines, fractured memory, and what we choose to become after being broken.
The World Itself Is Fading
In the twilight of the Saeculum Lux, the last true remnants of the Aeonic Synaxis fight to preserve what little remains. You guide a Carapace, an ancient war machine trying to recover its original purpose. Piloted by a Cantor, a sacred steward who speaks for the silent machine, you’ll battle across ruined reliquaries, drift-wrecked strongholds, and memory-stained warfronts. This is a game of scarred survival. You won’t just win missions, you’ll regain parts of yourself to do it. Victory is temporary. But memory, that’s what lasts.
A Game of Memory, Not Power
Unlike traditional wargames, Carapace centers not on domination, but on persistence. You will recover memories, not just resources. You will remember your past actions—and be judged by them. Your Carapace evolves across missions, developing new scars, flaws, and tactics. Some memories are sacred. Others are corrupted. All will shape your legacy.
What Makes Carapace Unique?
Core Themes
- Fast, brutal skirmish gameplay — Each battle lasts under an hour, with deadly precision and tactical depth.
- Campaign persistence — Every choice, every injury, every echo remains. You don’t reset between missions—you evolve.
- Memory mechanics — The Spiral Lattice records your legacy, but it can fracture. What you remember… changes you.
- Solo or Co-op focus — Built for solo fun or with friends.
- Designed with purpose — This isn’t mass-produced. This is handcrafted. A passion project born out of personal loss and creative calling.
From the Creators
“Carapace was born from a single question: What if a war machine remembered everything it ever did—and never forgave itself?”
